Welcome to HFA, founded by Clay Silvas & Mo Ruiz - a private training academy committed to helping players reach their full potential.
AT HFA, we begin developing players as early as those born in 2017 and up. We work with some of the most talented and dedicated athletes in the Sacramento area, creating a high performance environment that challenges each individual technically, physically, and mentally.
Through a foundation built on detail, discipline, and high standards, our mission is to shape complete footballers - confident on the ball, intelligent in decision-making, and prepared for every level of the modern game. every session is designed to elevate performance and instill the mindset needed to suceed both on and off the field.
Our Style
HFA Curriculum
BALL MASTERY & CREATIVITY
At HFA, ball mastery is the heartbeat of everything we do. Our sessions are built around developing confident, skillful players who are comfortable with the ball at their feet. We encourage players to express themselves, be brave, and try new moves — even if it means failing and learning. Through constant repetition of creative dribbling patterns, ball manipulation drills, and dynamic touches, players build a sharp and fearless foundation to take on any moment in the game.
1V1 ATTACK & DEFEND
We believe the game is won through individual moments — and 1v1s are at the center of that. At HFA, players are constantly challenged in a variety of 1v1 situations where they must think, react, and compete. Whether it’s beating a defender with flair or winning the ball back under pressure, players gain the confidence to dominate. We train players to embrace unpredictability, be bold, and trust their instincts.
SMALL SIDED GAMES
Small sided games are a key part of our identity at HFA. These fast-paced, high-repetition environments give players more touches, quicker decisions, and more chances to be involved. Fewer players on the field means more opportunities to take on defenders, try new skills, and stay sharp under pressure. We also love to add a layer of competition — every session has winners, challenges, and something to play for. This keeps players engaged, motivated, and ready to compete every time they step on the field.
